Live From The Cat’s Cradle
Broadcast on WCOM-LP 103.5 FM Chapel Hill / Carrboro NC
Get Out the Vote Concert
A moment of history took place in Carrboro on 10-23-2026. Weekly Dose Of … was part of WCOM’s live broadcast for a Get Out the Vote event. The original airing plans for WDO were changed at the last moment to support our community for a unique and a historic live event. For those of you living in this part of North Carolina, or for those who may have travelled these parts, and if you are a music lover, you have most likely heard of the Cat’s Cradle. One of North Carolina’s most enduring independent music venues, with roots stretching back to 1969. Last night was the re-opening, or Grand Opening, of the new location for the historic Cat’s Cradle. On this night though the Cat’s Cradle sponsored a get out the vote event for Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina; supporting Roy Coopers campaign for the United States Senate. Special guests included: Governor Josh Stein and Associate Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls. It was a historic night of both music and messaging. The live event reached far and wide both over the air-waves of our local community and across the ether, and Weekly Dose Of … was a part of the history. This broadcast for our community only, on WCOM-lp, and on this chilly fall evening was supported with our talented team on the ground, DJ Jenny Sais Quoi and Grateful Dave, and our DJ’s in the studio Bernie and Erik of Weekly Dose Of … WCOM loved being part of this historic event. We all enjoyed providing a ‘Dose Of …’ reminders to our listeners the importance to participate in their civic responsibility, and we loved mixing in some great tunes during the breaks, or as opportunity allowed.
If you are interested in hearing the show, the stream below captured the nights live acts, and speeches. The bill included: Tift Merritt, Karly Hartzman, Hiss Golden Messenger and more. A killer live event on WCOM for the grand opening and new location of Carrboro’s historic venue.
