The Troubadour

Steve Postell is a successful musician whose decades long career includes several aspects of the music business, which includes touring with multiple bands like Pure Prairie League, and The Immediate Family. Steve has performed and written music for Broadway (Evita and The Man of LaMancha), film, television, and numerous collaborations.  A prolific career!  Our hour with Steve was lively and we learned how music became the focus of his life, and how his career evolved.  As an entertainer in New York, most of his early work was writing music for television (jingles and other music pieces) i.e ESPNs Sports Week.  In addition, Steve has credits in numerous film and music scores for on/off Broadway productions (“Fallen Angel”).  His most recent score was “Dying” to Know (Ramm Dass and Timothy Leary story).

Steve has performed and collaborated with numerous artists including John Densmore, David Crosby, Kenny Loggins, John Oats, and many others.  Steve is currently preparing for a tour with his band Our House (Our House), which kicks off in early April, and ends in mid-May.  The band covers CSNY music and is a tribute to his friend David Crosby.  We learned his intimate story about David Crosby, how they met, their work together, and the tour they were preparing for just before David passed away in 2023.  During our discussion we played Steve’s latest release “Walking Through These Blues”, and a few songs from one of his compilation CD’s. Our hour went quick!
