Who is Gary White you might ask, Gary is one of those music industry persons who has spent a lifetime out of the limelight, but on the inside of the music business. A knowledgeable, seasoned guitarist himself, he was in many bands across the northwest united states, and those bands have opened for big names many of you may know.
Gary is one of those music business professionals whose had a unique opportunity, and personal experiences over the course of 50 or more years, and with many named artists. In some cases Gary has been their “live” Sound Engineer on the road and their Road Manager handling all the duties that go with those jobs, he has lived, experienced & accumulated tons of unusual & humorous “road” stories working with the likes of Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night), Dave Mason, The Manhattan Transfer, Poco, Bill Withers and Country Artist, Dwight Yokum, with his best friend and brilliant Guitarist/Producer, Pete Anderson, who helped define & shape Dwight Yokum’s illustrious career.
Gary (now retired) is a sharp witted, educated, and humorous natured personality, with stories that should be captured in a book. The dirt and the skeletons, along with the adventures some can only dream about. Bernie and Erik enjoyed a lively conversation over the airwaves of Chapel Hill / Carrboro NC, and he simply took us on a journey, along with our listening audience. What an amazing time. Gary will be back we hope sometime in the near future. So much to share.
