CLASSIC JAZZ WITH TED ALLISON

For three hours each week your host, Ted Allison will be featuring the music of Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Count Basie and of course the list goes on and on.

Beginning in the late 1800’s in New Orleans, Louisiana and then by the 1920’s the sounds started to sweep the united states…from trios to big bands…from cool to funky and modern, jazz now has over 50 subgenres.

Along the way, you will hear songs from the Great American Song Book. The Great American Song Book is defined loosely as: early 20th century american jazz standards, popular songs and show tunes. it is a wide range of songs!!
