About the Show
Carrboro Live! broadcasted from the Carrboro ArtsCenter as well as other local venues. Shows are now re-broadcasts. This has resulted in an archive of local event broadcasts, experiments in weird live radio, and national specials on music luminaries. Sometimes we have tickets and CD’s to give away as well.
We started years ago on Thursday evenings, with an eclectic mix of live interviews with local singers, songwriters, musicians, and drop-in politicians – frequently including State Senator Ellie Kinnaird, Carrboro Mayor and Aldermen, and many local social justice activists. Since then, we have featured live Town Hall meeting commentary, and recordings of memorials to local social justice leaders including Joe Straley, Rebecca Clark, and Yonni Chapman.
The first live remote broadcast was the town of Chapel Hill’s dedication of MLK Boulevard (historic Airport Road).
