If your idea of a good Tuesday night includes unpredictable radio, a few good laughs, and the occasional existential gut-punch—The Blotter Radio Zine might just be your new obsession.
Hosted by Chris Bullock, a native of Lumberton, NC (“aka Hell,” in his own words), The Blotter Radio Zine is part late-night talk, part storytelling, and part musical mixtape. Airing Tuesdays at 10 PM EST, the show is a freestyle mash-up of humor, heart, and hummable tunes—built around whatever’s happening that week, who’s in the studio, and what’s been bouncing around Chris’s head or bookshelf.
Raised on radio and raised by radio, Chris picked up the mic after years of hanging around the station with friends. What started as a crash-course in chaos became a full-on weekly ritual. Expect deep dives into obscure American history, politics, Springsteen references, and quotes from Sylvia Plath and James Baldwin—often in the same breath.
“I just hope people walk away with a laugh, a little inspiration, or a weird fun fact they didn’t know they needed,” says Bullock.
Past highlights include a heartfelt post-election reflection (archived on YouTube) and a chaotic, emotional roundtable on his dad’s “insane life story.” Future plans? Birthday shows, forehead kisses, and the destruction of I.C.E.
So pour yourself a cherry bourbon-mezcal cocktail, queue up your curiosity, and tune in to The Blotter Radio Zine—Tuesdays at 10 PM on WCOM 103.5 FM or streaming live at wcomfm.org.
