WCOM would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to Elf Market at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro yesterday. The space was filled with laughter, music, and genuine holiday joy, reminding us just how special and supportive this community truly is.

One of the highlights of the day was welcoming not one but two Santas, Grateful Dave and Chris Amsbary, who each brought their own brand of warmth, humor, and festive spirit. In true Carrboro fashion, Santa even arrived with a bag full of goodies. Kids reached in and pulled out CDs—a delightfully vintage surprise that sparked curiosity, excitement, and a whole lot of smiles. Watching a new generation discover something so analog was pure magic, and they absolutely loved it.

With the help of Fancy This Photography, families and friends were able to take photos with Santa throughout the event, with donations accepted in support of WCOM and community radio.

We were especially moved by the sweet moments shared between Santa and the kids. From excited conversations to quiet, heartfelt interactions, the holiday spirit was everywhere. While those moments meant a great deal to experience, WCOM will not be sharing photos of children on our platforms. To respect family privacy, any images shared publicly will feature adults only.

Events like Elf Market highlight the power of local arts, volunteer energy, and community connection. Thank you to The ArtsCenter, our volunteers, Fancy This Photography, Grateful Dave, Chris Amsbary, and everyone who came out to support local radio and celebrate the season together.

We are deeply grateful for this community and the joy you bring to Carrboro. Here’s to many more shared moments ahead.
