Host: Larry Solomon: Rock and jazz-fusion music that was initially played on the so-called “underground” FM radio stations that existed in the late 1960’s and early-mid 1970’s (i.e., no “hits” or “Top 40”)
The show features lesser-known album tracks and “music with meaning” (i.e. social relevance). Although this will be the basis, this will not preclude the inclusion of music from other decades, especially that which was produced by artists with their beginnings in the late 1960’s – early/mid 1970’s.
Concentrated corporate ownership of commercial radio stations has hurt the ability for stations to serve their communities, and while satellite radio (Sirius/XM) can fill some of the void in the music, there is no “localism” or community orientation in the satellite radio world.
