Carrboro Live! broadcasts live from the Carrboro ArtsCenter as well as broadcasts pre-recorded events from many local venues. An eclectic mix of live interviews with local singers, songwriters, musicians, and drop-in politicians - frequently including State Senator Ellie Kinnaird, Carrboro Mayor and Aldermen, and many local social justice activists. The first live broadcast was the town of Chapel Hill's dedication of MLK Boulevard - historic Airport Road. Since then, we have featured live Town Hall meeting commentary, and recordings of memorials to local leaders including Joe Straley, Rebecca Clark, and Yonni Chapman. Ticket and CD giveaways, broadcasts of pre-recorded community events and concerts, as well as experiments in weird live radio, are frequent happenings on Carrboro Live! NOW we broadcast LIVE from the main stage at the ArtsCenter when we have artist permissions. At other times we come in a play tunes - and are happy that the Bluegrass Barden's from Fayetville - Monk and Bob - are joining us on select saturday evenings for their wonderful mix of Folk and Bluegrass music. The Barden's join us after a long career on their local station 90.1. |
