Carrboro Live! broadcasts live from the lawn at the Weaver Street Market during the summer concert months. During the rest of the year, the show is an eclectic mix of live interviews with local singers, songwriters, musicians, and politicians - frequently including State Senator Ellie Kinnaird, Carrboro Mayor Marc Chilton and Alderman Dan Coleman, and many local social justice activists. The first live broadcast was the town of Chapel Hill's dedication of MLK Boulevard - historic Airport Road. Since then, we have featured live Town Hall meeting commentary, and recordings of memorials to local leaders including Joe Straley, Rebecca Clark, and Yonni Chapman. Ticket and CD giveaways, broadcasts of pre-recorded community events and concerts, as well as experiments in weird live radio, are frequent happenings on Carrboro Live! |
